The next in my four part series Life During Wartime, American Love Stories is inspired by the Soft Serve exhibit @willowstreetgallery and curated by @nightmarewoman in #takomapark War Widow and Paper Dolls reflect two perspectives. War widow is the view of a conflicted woman who on the one hand suffers abuse because of the scars of war and longs for the person who never returned. Paper Dolls is the legacy of women of color still seen as playthings by members of society who reflect a once silent war and now are soldiers in a new one.
I posted a retitled Both Foreign and Domestic to show it as part of this series. Enjoy, share with attribution, write a comment for dialogue, follow if you like, and above all else love those around you.
